vlees aan klanten in Asten en de wijde omgeving. Lau Hoeben startte op 12 juli 1929 met zijn slagerij uitbenerij in de Wolfsberg in Asten. Hij was ruim 40 jaar de slager van Asten, totdat zijn zonen Theo en Piet in 1969 de slagerij kwamen versterken.<\/p>\n<p>Theo zette met zijn vrouw de slagerij aan de Wolfsberg voort. Piet begon een winkel in Heusden. De werkplaats voor vleesproductie was gevestigd in Asten pal naast de slagerij.<\/p>\n<p>Laurens en Maaike Hoeben: in 1993 kwam Laurens Hoeben, kleinkind van de grondlegger en huidige uitbater van de slagerij in het familiebedrijf werken. In 2002 namen hij en zijn vrouw Maaike de slagerij over.<\/p>\n<p>Eind 2000 verdween de winkel in Heusden. De klanten kwamen naar Asten. Het bedrijf groeide gestaag. In 2006 werd een flinke stap gezet. De winkel verhuisde van de oorspronkelijke lokatie naar het Midas Winkelcentrum aan de markt in Asten. De werkplaats bleef gevestigd aan de Wolfsberg. Deze is eind 2008 verhuisd naar het industrieterrein in Asten.<\/p>\n<p>Inmiddels is Slagerij Hoeben uitgegroeid tot een van de grootste ambachtelijke slagers van de regio. In de winkel en EEG erkende werkplaats werken 13 personen.
